Isuzu Boosts SML Isuzu Limited
The Japanese auto maker has taken the decision of raising its equity stakes in SML Isuzu Limited to advertise sales and production of its commercial vehicles in one of the fastest growing Indian auto market.
The company will do so with its Mid-term Business Plan. SMLI manufactures and markets the company’s medium-duty buses, which helps in diffusing the Japanese commercial vehicles in Indian market.
Looking at the need of the amount of help that Isuzu needs from SMLI, the company has decided to increase the ownership share of the helping company from 4% to 15%.

With the help of SMLI, the Japanese auto firm has decided to launch new vehicles dedicated to the Indian market and has also decided to re-strategize the way SMLI works. Isuzu plans to touch the annual sales figure of 30,000 units by 2016.
